Jamdzhiev Edge - WINTER January 2026

A beautiful and impressive mountain ridge, characterized by long sections of easy to moderate climbing, combined with technical passages.

A route that is extremely suitable for an introduction to mountaineering, passing through picturesque terrain along one of the ridges of Pirin's highest peak, Mt. Vihren.

Program:

01:30 a.m. meeting at Shiligarnika. 
Hike from Shiligarnika to the turnoff from the road to Vihren Hut towards Dzhamdzhievi Rocks: 90-120 min.  
Short break, gear up and hike to Dzhamdzhievi Rocks, climb Dzhamdzhiev Ridge to reach Mt. Vihren: 120-150 min.
Descent to Hvoynati Peak – Vihren Hut – Shiligarnika: 210 ÷ 240 min. Departure
Note: The times indicated are approximate and depend on the pace of the group, weather conditions, and snow cover.

Important!

In case of deteriorating weather conditions and/or other force majeure circumstances, the guide may return the group or change the route to ensure the safety of the participants.

Required personal equipment:

- Backpack that can hold the items listed below

- Hat - 2 pcs.
- Waterproof and windproof jacket and pants (overalls)

- Down jacket

- Thermal underwear - top and bottom
- Warm clothing - fleece/polar top
- Comfortable hiking shoes with hard soles
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Food and drinks according to personal needs for a long day of hiking and intense activity

- Mobile phone with charged battery
- Headlamp with new/charged batteries

- Climbing helmet

- Climbing harness

- Ice axe

- Crampons

- Avalanche kit – avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe

Price:

Individual price: 700 BGN.
For two participants, the price is reduced by 30% per person!

Note: 

To ensure maximum safety, one guide leads a maximum of two participants.

The price includes: guide, general equipment

The price does not include: insurance, logistics costs, accommodation, food, drinks, and other personal expenses, personal equipment.

Conditions for participation:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must not have any health problems related to the specifics of mountaineering and the resulting physical exertion.
- Extreme insurance for the days of the program (participants without insurance will not be admitted!).

- Good hiking skills
- Self-organization of transportation and accommodation (shared travel between participants is possible).

- It is recommended that each participant have a personal first aid kit.
